Department of Social and Gender Studies

Introduction

The Department of Social and Gender Studies encompasses multidisciplinary approach in social sciences that extends from orthodox sociological theories to heterodox sociological concepts. This multidisciplinary approach provides students a unique environment to be trained and educated with their natural potential recognized and unleashed. We do not focus only on conventional methods of learning rather facilitate students the way they are interested in. They are equipped with the skills and commitment to contribute to local and global development process. Their understanding of the social world and social problems is properly generated and regenerated in such a way that the difference between their actual and potential realization is reduced.

The Department has successfully graduated its first Batch of MA Sociology, Session 2013-2015, its second Batch of MA Sociology, Session: 2014-16, and 3^rd Batch of MA Sociology, Session 2017-19.

The Department also enrolled the first batch of BS Sociology in 2016 (Session: 2016-2020), the second Batch was enrolled in 2017 (Session: 2017-2021), the third Batch of BS Sociology was enrolled in 2018 (Session: 2018-2022), the fourth Batch of BS Sociology enrolled in 2019 (Session: 2019-2023), and so on.

Eligibility:

The Department will follow the eligibility
criteria w.e.f Fall 2024 as per the Undergraduate Education Policy (UEP-2023:
